The first race of the season is always an exciting day for the PD’s, but this years Dobroyd Tens Race was fabulous – the sun came out to shine on us, the food was great, the racing heaps of fun and we came home with a couple of nice little trophys to add to the collection.
Mixed (3rd equal with ourselves!) with PD’s 2 taking home the trophy (A pretty good effort to have 2 teams in the finals & good results against A crews from top clubs)
Womens – 4th place (tidy work against some strong crews fielding top Oz paddlers).
Guys – 3rd place (to a sizzling CYL team and strong Mavericks crew)
Congratulations to Phil, Pete & Paul (try saying that fast 3 times!) and to Nhu for their first ever dragon boat races. And also to Michelle for her first race in a Sports Crew. Welcome to dragon boating and to our club, We hope you guys had fun – theres plenty more where that came from!!
Well done to all the PD’s & friends Australian Masters Paddlers who had some awesome racing yesterday – you guys looked hot and are paddling fast too!
The best part of yesterday was seeing the all new faces, amongst the PD’s of the present and a few blasts from the past in the boat, spectating and cheering us on. This is going to be a special season for the PD’s and this was a great way to kick it off.
