What an amazing campaign from our Pacific Dragons dragon boat crew and NSW representatives who competed in the Premier division at the Australian Dragon Boat championships in Perth 🇦🇺 🛶😊#
Leading the charge from our Dragon Boat coaching team was Dino Chai and Leida Jj both fresh from competing in the gold-medal winning NSW Premier crew at the State vs State Championship along with our other representatives Karina Piddington, Harriet Broad, Cassandra Ballebye for Senior A; Geoff Eldridge and Joanne Petterson for Senior C. Well done team! 👏 👏
We fought hard against some tough competition, but after a nice home cooked team dinner, we brought the orange magic and dug deep across 200m, 500m and 2km racing.
Our Women’s crew achieved:
- 500m Small Boat – 🥈
- 200m Small Boat – 🥉
- 2km Small Boat – 🥈
Our Opens crew fought valiantly, taking out 4th in the 2km race, only 9 seconds separating 1st-4th.
Congratulations to all who competed at this National regatta. A special mention to the awesome Vivienne Wigg, our super sweep who steered all 17 races.
The Pacific Dragons are so proud of our team who are now enjoying a well deserved holiday road trip to Rottnest Island, Busselton and Margaret River.
