Pacific Dragons will be holding the first OC1/2/6 regatta on the AOCRA calendar at Frenchmans Bay, La Perouse, on Sunday 22 October.
Spring is here, what better way to rouse your members from winter hiding, and also let new members get a taste of racing? And of course, friends are quite welcome to come watch – the best way to entice prospective paddlers is to show them what racing looks like, and the great community that we have.
This regatta sees the debut of the OC1/2 Lo’kahi Race Series, which has caused great excitement across the single craft community already.
Here is the race invite. Online registrations are now open for club officials.
Parking can be found on Endeavour Ave, and canoe drop-off and pick-up occurs on Anzac Pde, nearest to the beach.
During the racing, there are many good vantage points for paddlers and community members to enjoy watching the race crews battle it out. There will be a barbecue and cake stall on the day, providing sustenance with a community twist, and cafes nearby will provide that morning jive.
For those who can’t be with us on race day, here are the links to each race’s GPS tracking, so you can see your friends’ canoes wherever you are!
