When a Pacific Dragon has a mishap, we know that the best way to get out of it is to paddle harder. When a Pacific Dragon has a mishap, we know that the best way to get out of it is to paddle harder. In that spirit, it helps if everyone has a paddle. The two crews all felt bad when Paul’s paddle, which was strapped to the ama as a spare, was broken during our huli drill in an ocean session before xmas. Paul has always been generous in helping us with our own gear issues over the years and the crew leapt at the chance to finally return the favour. Hence we passed around the hat and presented him with an envelope with enough to order a new paddle to his specifications.

Paul had no idea it was coming, and could easily have been knocked over with a feather. Mind you his repair job on the old one is still pretty impressive and worth a look.

Paulie, happy paddling from your buddies,

Todd & Jules, Adrian, Norm, Rachel, John, Geoff, Joanne, Leesa & Andrew, Stuart and Mark.

Special thanks to Stuart for being precise, Adrian for being so cool and Andrew for insisting on contributing even though he wasn’t on the session.

NB. The correct way to strap a paddle to the ama is with the blade over the bulk head.

Cheers

– Mark
