Congratulations to our crews competing at the Te Ika Nui race at Ettalong on the Central Coast on Sunday 3 March.
We had 6 crews competing, 2 short course and 4 long course, great to see! The course was an interesting mix of flat water with strong tidal conditions, winds building as the day went on, a few bumps for the short course, and a challenging ocean leg for the long course. For some of our paddlers these were the biggest conditions they had competed in, it was great to see their beaming faces when they came in!
Here are the results for our crews:
SHORT COURSE
4th Place – Open Men – with one PD Chick in the crew – 49.21
5th Place – Open Women – 54.06
LONG COURSE
1st Place – Open Women – 1.13.12
5th Place – Open Women – 1.28.06
3rd Place – Open Men – 1.06.34
10th Place – Open Men – 1.14.14
A big thank you to Rachel Mosen for coordinating from Dubai again, and Zeus for helping out in a big way by towing our two canoes and one for Purple Storm.
