A big thanks to all the PD’s that came down today to either visit us or help out with the official Glebe foreshore walkway opening.  It was great to be invited by the City of Sydney to be a part of the official opening both on and off the water!

Our on water chicks (Michelle, Annett and Cath) were strategically placed behind the stage and I think made it into every shot!  Thanks girls, I know it was hot out there.

Off the water we had 2 OC6’s on display where we were able to promote our Open Day (Sunday 16th November) to  many passers by and hand out flyers about the club.  Thanks to Amanda, Paul Smith, Eugene, Caitlin, Darren, Albert and Rachel who helped there.

Other activities included a visit from our very cute young PD’s  Zack Skeels and Maisie Kerr, we hung out with some birds, ate plenty of gelato and listened to the roving marching band.  Linda Ng was also presented with her 20th Anniversary plaque as a founding member of the club (as she was unable to make the end of season party!

Stu and I were very lucky to meet Uncle Ray Davidson who is the elder from the Gadigal clan of the Eora people (of which many of our canoes have names from their dialect) and the Mayor Clover Moore, who both officially opened the walkway.

We are very excited about the prospect of getting our canoes over to the racks permanently and another chance to practice getting canoes up and down the stairs and to the racks….. Watch this space!   Some highlight pics of the day to enjoy below.
