The Pacific Dragons Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe Club welcomes you to paddling season 2015-2016!

While many in the paddling community are enjoying a well-deserved winter break, the PDs and friends have been at work, training for some exciting outrigger canoeing regattas in no less than big-water Hawaii. The races capturing our focus at this point in time are The Annual Queen Lili’uokalani Race and the Moloka’i Hoe. Our paddlers have also been active in Paddle NSW races across NSW and ACT to gain valuable race experience and conditioning.

As for our dragon boat paddlers, we have been quietly at work too. Pre-season training has begun and lots of light-intensity drills have been prescribed in order to refine our individual technique and readying ourselves for the upcoming races in September. It’s been fun times on the water for what has been quite a string of mild Saturday mornings. If you have been interested in paddling, but don’t know how to get into it, why not send us an email? You might have never paddled before, maybe you’ve paddled for a team organised by your company at the Dragons Abreast Challenge or Chinese New Year, or perhaps you’ve been on a paddling break – you’re all welcome!
